"Come on you Wolves!"
Generations of rugby league fans in Warrington have supported their team in victory and defeat. At its height in the early 1950s the game attracted home crowds of over 30,000.
| The club was formed in 1879 when two local rugby union teams became one. In 1895 Warrington and other clubs in the North of England decided to split from rugby union as they disagreed with the issue of non-payment of players. They created the Northern Rugby Union. This name changed to Rugby League in 1922. |
| The club's "home" was originally the White Hart Hotel on Sankey Street. The players changed here then walked the short distance down the road to the pitch. The club moved to Wilderspool in 1898 renting the site from local brewers Greenall Whitley. |

The club has witnessed many changes and the most significant in recent years was in 1996 with the move to Super League and to summer rugby. Now the club has a new home at the Halliwell-Jones stadium, fans are looking forward to a prosperous future. |
