| "In 1960 Saturday night in Warrington was an opportunity to go dancing at the Parr Hall. Most people went into town by bus, we had a Vespa scooter, but very few teenagers had access to a car. Dancing was usually to the music of a band and was a mix of ballroom dances and jazz/early pop type tunes. Many of the boys were dressed as teddy boys and the girls usually had very full skirted dresses with a sugar stiffened net underskirt. At the interval drinks and light snacks were available - but no alcoholic drinks. Many people went to sit for a while in the gallery to watch the dancers below. | "I remember going to the Roller rink as a child for friends' birthday parties. Being hopelessly un-coordinated I fell over alot to start with and remember being especially proud when I managed a full circuit of the rink, albeit with the support of several friends. We had a great time whizzing around in the roller disco to Wham!"
